My preprint, “AI Disclosure Without Protection: A Governance Gap in Scholarly Peer Review,” is now available on Research Square.
The article examines how current AI disclosure policies in scholarly publishing place detailed obligations on authors while offering limited guidance or protection around how reviewers should interpret those disclosures. I call this the interpretive safeguard gap: a governance problem where honest AI disclosure can become evaluatively risky if reviewer-side safeguards are missing.
